Jen's Ely Update • June 2006

These are my neat neighbors, little Gabriel and Gracie. Twins, who are about 2 years and 5 months old here. Their mom and dad are James and Virginia and they live across the street. They come over to visit Karma and give him treats during the day. Big Headed Harley (Megan and James's dog) was over for a sleepover with Karma.

Virginia is really good with teaching them how to give Karma a treat and not
letting him knock them over accidentally. Which he sometimes does.

Everyone's listening to mom...

My backyard as a work in progress. It's what happens when collecting other people's bricks
for free, little by little... eventually, I'll have a patio! Wild daisies (non-native species I'm sure) have been
planted by "voluntary" means. I'm guessing, bird poop. Works for me!

My gardens this year. I put the closest one in this year for my tomatoes and peppers. I scaled
back on the tomatoes this year. Last year, I had 28 tomato plants in the other garden, along
with all the other veggies. This year, I only purchased 8 plants. The other garden
has zucchini, squash, potatoes, onions, radishes, carrots, lettuce and 2 varieties of peas.
As if I'd actually EAT all those vegetables... I just like how they look.

My front yard landscaping in progress. I found the rock edging at the dump in the masonry pile.
It's actually that fake rock stuff from the front of a house or chimney or something. It worked great for
holding up the cedar mulch. It smells great out there now with all that cedar. I need to put in some
more plants, but that will come later.

More mulch..
Mulch and Mary...

After 2 years, I finally have flowers in the front! My perennials are flowering!
